   Thank you for G.E. Mortimore’s fair-minded article on the NDP leadership debate. I have come to the same conclusion that Brian Topp is the best leader for the NDP at this time.

   I appreciated that Mr. Mortimore judged the candidates he reviewed by their best qualities, rather than the disappointingly negative Turner/McBeth article, which attempted to undermine the credibility of those candidates the authors (very obviously) didn’t like. As a supporter of Mr. Topp’s, I would at the very least have expected a modicum of respect for Mr. Topp’s many positive attributes. The fact that the authors so obviously prefer Peggy is fine (she’s my close second choice), but the act of tearing down other candidates in order to elevate the author’s preferred choice was very disappointing. Badly done!
